Well today I’m sharing some of my favourite sources when it comes to Tech News:

  1. The Register is great for scanning lots of stories quickly. Tiled headlines, lots of choice, it’s great! This has to be my personal favourite!
  2. BBC Technology usually contains news about the big players in the internet field like Microsoft and Google. Sometimes it yields an interesting story and is certainly worth checking if you’re looking for some big news.
  3. CNET News is an interesting one. It contains stories of mixed focuses, whether it’s the latest gadgets, OS or websites. Definitely worth a check in the mornings!
  4. Google News has a technology section which is worth a read. It’s a compilation feed, so it pulls in Tech News from various different websites. Worth a quick read.

As well as discussing whether the “we make awesome…” trend is a growing one amongst many web designers, it also shows some fairly promising poll results. But why am I harping on about this?

Despite being good at the time, 9 years later, it’s time for change. We’re sick of it messing up websites which are coded perfectly to the latest web standards, forcing us to spend extra time and use ugly hacks just to get sites displaying correctly.

We understand there are users out there, stuck with IE6 for whatever reason. Well just for those of you with no choice, we’ve made a text-only based version available for you, but no fancy styles for you, IE6!

We’re making a stand, fighting the evil that is IE6, and all the horrors it brings with it. No longer will we live in fear of its poor standards support and dreadful security issues! No longer will IE6 force us to be slaves! We will be free, free to browse the web and all the rich media it has to offer!

I beg every last IE6 user to upgrade! Don’t do it for us, do it for yourself! Why should I upgrade from Internet Explorer 6?
